That's HUGE!

I got to go to a real bookstore...
And I know that for most of you this isn't a big deal.
But in our little West Texas town, we lost our bookstore last year. Now my closest bookstore is 1 1/2 hours away. My closest B&N is 2 hours away. That's a trek. So yesterday, I drove the two hours and luxuriated in perusing the racks of books and finding books that I normally wouldn't pick up...just because I could.

If you have a bookstore, appreciate it, love it, visit it...for me!

Here in the US, next week is a holiday.

I'm weird in that I hate being around other people...yes, I'm a stereotypical introverted writer. So, what do I do on holidays? I wait until the day after to go on a trip. Next week, I'm headed to the real Snowcroft and I'm ridiculously excited. I just love it there.

Also, there's always something amazing about writing on the book in the setting where it takes place. It's extra-inspiring and I'm all for that.
(One of my past photos take from there)

What I'm Writing...

It's CampNaNoWriMo Time and I have big plans for July.

1. Snowcroft Restoration (Snowcroft #4...Law's book) has a little bit over 30k words written on it. I plan to finish it in July.

2. KB Jacobs (if you missed that announcement last week, check it HERE) is about to start book #2 in our next series. When we start writing, it takes us about 3 weeks to write the first draft (we each write a scene/day so we write about 3000-3500 words/day.

And now the thing you've been waiting for...

Does anyone want to know
the release date for Found at the Bookstore?

Anyone??

Maybe a reminder of the story line to pique your interest...

Found at the Bookstore Story Description

After suffering a traumatic brain injury the final football game his senior year in high school, Ryder Garrett’s life was never normal again. Most days he’s happy when he can remember the way home. There’s no room in his life for romance or love, which means he’s destined to die a virgin.

Stig Minton doesn’t remember what virginity felt like. Twelve years older than Ryder, he’s been around the block too many times to count and has the scars to prove it...both physically and mentally.

But as these two men come together to help with a wedding, they forge a friendship, a friendship they both desperately need. As their relationship evolves, feelings go deeper. But is it stupid to risk this new—and, yes necessary—bond in pursuit of something that’s doomed to fail?

They both think they’re too broken to make this work. But what if they’re wrong?

Two broken souls may just be able to find reparation in one another...

Book #2 in the Found Series.

Okay, I'll stop teasing.
The release date is...
July 19, 2017

A HUGE Friday Five Announcement...

Warning...today's post is going to run long, but I'm hoping you find it to be worth it.

First, I have a little story to share.

Last summer, I jumped at an opportunity to become a writer in the Sterling & Stone Apprentice program. It was the first time they ever did that program and it was an 8 month commitment.
But I didn't go into it alone. I went into it with a writing partner and we tackled the training as a writing duo.

I'll be honest with you, I've never wanted to write with another person. It's never even been a possibility, but as the idea brewed, we both got more and more excited. And I have to admit the partnership worked out so much better than I ever expected it to. Our writing styles and strengths are perfectly complementary which makes for a great working partnership.

This partnership was never supposed to be our main gig. The plan was we'd each stay writing our own books, also. She writes YA and that's why we decided to write under a pseudonym.

Today is the release of our third book and that's why I'm finally coming clean
and revealing that I'm 1/2 of KB JACOBS

Here is our official bio...
KB Jacobs is the pen name for two fabulous, best-selling authors. Obsessed with the 3 B’s...books, brews, and bodies...specifically male ones with a ladder of abs leading down to the treasure trail…

Ahem, sorry, we digress.

These two authors decided to pool their obsessions and discovered a whole new destination to whet their imaginations. Welcome to Naked Brews, one amazing microbrewery set in the middle of the Rockies, run by three women, who much like our authors, know what they want...those 3 B’s again. Side eyes the men...oh, yeah, they have very nice obsessions.

 ***
And now the fun part...let me tell you about our first series.

The first trilogy is the Naked Brews series. The three books follow the lives of the three young women who end up in charge of a craft brewery in the middle of the Rocky Mountains...in Aspenridge, Colorado...when Lake's (middle girl below) father suddenly dies.

As of today, all three books in the trilogy are out...so you can read them all in one go.

 ***
And now the nitty gritty about the books...

Story description:
I grew up as a conman, but now I’m respectable...kind of. Yeah, I’m lying to Lake about who I am, but it’s for a good cause.

When you’re in the military, you learn that sometimes decisions have to be made. A few have to be sacrificed to benefit the greater good. The memories of my fallen military brothers takes precedence over a piece of great ass, even one as fine as Lake’s.

Lake O’Brien might love her dad’s brewery, but I need it. Greater good and all. I just hope she can forgive me after I steal it from her...

***
Story description:
Triple B...the Bad Boy of Boarding.

That’s me and I own that title. I’m a professional snowboarder and my life IS the party.

You want to hang out for a good time? Come to Triple B’s house.
You need a hot chick to bang? There are tons of them at my place.
My bar is stocked and the music is jamming. This is my life.

Until Juliet. No, that’s not her real name. That’s just what I called her when I fell in lust with her those nights when she read in her window.

But then a fire changed everything.

I saved her life and it ruined mine. Now my sponsors say I either fix my party-boy image or else I’m through making the big bucks. I figure she broke me, she can fix me.

She’s sweet and innocent, exactly what I need to fix my image. But I’m not sure either of us will survive the legacy that is Triple B.

***
Story description:
Three years ago, my perfect life ended. I got trapped inside a burning Army MRAP and watched my friends die. I was the only one to survive, if you can call this survival.

Now I’m the beast of nightmares. Horrific scars mean I don’t leave my house...ever.

But my best friend made sure I continued to live when all I wanted was to give up. I owe him everything, and now he needs me for two weeks.

Two weeks with strangers who I’ll never have to see again. I can do this. I can ignore the stares and revulsion.

But what I can’t ignore is the stunning beauty next door who sees past my scars.

She’s Hollywood royalty. I’m a recluse, a hermit. Her life is glamour and paparazzi. My life is NOT. No matter how much I want her, I’m no good for her.

Beauty and the beast was a romantic fairy tale, but this is real life and she deserves better...

This is the final installment to the Naked Brews trilogy.

(temporarily at the $.99 new release price)

How do these books differ from my Christi Snow titles?
The main difference is the genre. These books are New Adult. That means the main characters are in their lower to mid-twenties and still not quite settled into what it means to be an adult in careers and homes and such. The books are written in alternating 1st person point of view between the hero and the heroine.

The storylines and the characters are very much a joint endeavor between me and B (she's the B of KB, I'm the K). Although so far, I've done the bulk of the writing for the heroes and she writes the heroines. We both heavily edit each other's writing, so I think the two pov's flow easily in the books.

A huge bonus is that B has a wicked sense of humor and that plays out brilliantly in the stories. I LOVE what she brings to these books/characters.

This first trilogy even has an element of suspense, although you won't realize it through most of the first book (hint...pay attention to the details...hehe).

Each book is written about a individual couple, but the suspense line is linked from one book to the other. Although, honestly, you could read any of the books as stand-alones...you just won't find out the answer to the 'whodunit' unless you're reading Deliciously Bitter, book #3.

The KB Jacobs' world...
Although Deliciously Bitter is the final release in the Naked Brews series, that is not the end for KB Jacobs. We have built an entire world in Aspenridge, Colorado. In fact, we just finished writing the first book in the next series, Bookstore Love series, last Sunday.

In fact, we have a rigorous publishing schedule with a release scheduled every 8 weeks throughout the year. That means we have 6 books releasing this year on top of our personal writing schedules.

And this is where you forgive me for my personal writing schedule lagging, because I also will have 6 releases this year...which means I'll have 12 books out this year alone. I'll admit that's a crazy amount of writing, but it's forced me to work smarter, not harder and I'm kind of loving that.

So, let me introduce you to our little town...Aspenridge, Colorado.

ALL of our books will be set here for the foreseeable future, not just this original trilogy.

(We have lots and lots of books already planned.)

Aspenridge Colorado is an old mining town set in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It was founded in the 1850's when gold was discovered in the Aspen River

Set at 9750 feet elevation, it's a year-round outdoor playground with an average high temperature of 70* in the summer and an average low temperature of 0* in the winter.

Summer brings hiking, camping in the forest as well as kayaking down the river. Aspen Lake features an old-fashioned vibe with its historical grandstand (where bands will play on summer nights), classic playground equipment like seesaws and merry-go-rounds as well as paddle boats for rent on the lake.

In the winter, all the activity centers around The Edge the base for the Ski Aspenridge Mountain, which is the home for several world-class ski and snowboarding competitions. The Edge also has a high-ropes course, one of the worlds largest slides, and outdoor putt-putt in the summer.

But Aspenridge isn't all about play. Featuring a four-year liberal arts college, the town is a destination for a few thousand young minds who attend Goldmont College every year.

Many of those students like to visit Em-Dash, the local bookstore. The store's book club is particularly notable because it coincidentally occurs at the same time that the fire station across the street has scheduled to wash their fire trucks every week.

No, really...it's totally coincidental. You know, just because the firefighters in Aspenridge are cut like Greek Gods has nothing to do with it. Really. No, seriously...

It's all innocent. In Aspenridge, we protect all our young minds. They don't need the distractions that come from carnal lust like that (ahem...even if it does provide some excellent creative fodder for a certain New Adult romance author duo).

There are many other eclectic and fun businesses to visit in Aspenridge. I won't bore you with a listing of all of them, but be assured the town will provide us with YEARS of excellent stories to come. We already have the next several series plotted out, so we hope you love our little mountain town as much as we do.

The heroes are sexy, the heroines feisty, and we hope their stories promise keep you up long past your bedtime.

But the best place to start learning about this incredible small town is in Deliciously Smooth, the first book in the Naked Brews series.

*gasp*

Wait a minute...I forgot to tell you about the most important business to know about right now...Naked Brews
Naked Brews is a craft brewery located in Aspenridge, Colorado. It was started twenty years ago by Pat O'Brien. What began as a hobby in Pat's garage turned into a hometown success story with the brewery and pub now run by his daughter, Lake O'Brien.

Well...kind of a success story. Everyone agrees...they do make excellent beer. It's just that Lake never planned on taking over the company this early. The sudden death of her father has made it so things are a little rocky around the Naked Brews...but that's a tale for the series.

And I know that schedule looks aggressive. It is, but most of those books are either written or mostly written. The main obstacle to staying on track at this point are editing costs in both money and time...that's where I may come up short, but I don't think I will.

Like I said, being this busy has forced me to be mega-organized and I'm getting so much more done. It's awesome!!

I hope you all are as excited as I am. The KB Jacobs books are some of the best I've put out. I'm really proud of what we've put out...the stories are fun and the characters melt my heart. I hope you'll love them, too.

smiles,

Friday Five with a special upcoming announcement...

New Favorite Book...
I adore books that sweep me away emotionally.  This one did that and more. It's most definitely a new favorite...and be warned...this is an ugly cry book, but it's SO GOOD!
You can find my full A+ rated review of it HERE.

The Story of Us
by Tara Sivec
From USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec comes an emotional, breathtakingly romantic new book about the power of first love and the promise of second chances.

How much can a man take before he breaks?

1,843 days. That's how long I survived in that hellhole. They tried to break me, but I resisted. And I owe it all to the memory of warm summer nights, the scent of peaches, and the one woman who loved me more than I ever deserved to be loved. Now, I'll do anything to get back to her.

Only Shelby Eubanks isn't the girl I left behind all those years ago. She's someone else, a stranger. My Shelby-my little green-eyed firecracker-would never give up her dreams, would never disappear into her mother's ambitions. But I won't give up on her. On us. I may be broken, and scarred, and not the man I used to be, but I will do whatever it takes to remind her of the story of us.

IndigoJade...
IndigoJade is a small art company owned by Lisa Hetrick. I know Lisa from back when she used to be a Unity Stamp Company designer. Now she's a watercolor artist. She showcases her daily art on her Instagram wall and recently I splurged and bought some of her art from her Etsy store for my walls. Now I need to get them framed.

Writing Goals...
I'll admit this hasn't been a great year for me writing words-wise. Luckily, I've had a stockpile of books written so the release schedule is totally packed, regardless. But overall, my writing productivity has been about 1/2 my norm the last few months, but that's what makes this feel even more amazing. Accountability is key!
Note: It's a good month when I hit 30k for the month, so to be already over that only halfway through the month is AWESOME!!

Things that make me happy...
1. Books...I love the escape, the feeling of when a book sweeps me away, the warm fuzzy feeling when I look at my filled bookshelves. Books make me happy.
2. Scents...I'm a candle girl. I've mentioned a few of my favorites on here before, but right now I have one burning from Tyler Candle Company called French Market that is my all time favorite. It smells SO GOOD!

3. Drinks...coffee, wine, or beer. It doesn't matter which one it is. Grabbing a cup or glass of any of these makes me feel a little pampered. Seriously, a tiny little happy throughout the day.

A Surprise is Coming...

Be sure you check back next Friday. I have a very special announcement in store...

(hint...I think you all will like it!)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
smiles,
Christi
