Friday Five is BACK!

You all thought I forgot about you, didn't you? I promise I didn't. Last week I had the Friday Five on my to-do list from Thurs-Sun, before I finally accepted that it wasn't going to happen. *sigh*

I've just been so dang busy...but that's what happens when there are still FIVE releases to come in 2017. Which is what we're going to talk about today...because I have (some) release dates and preorder links!!

So, here is the listing of my five releases coming this fall/winter...
ALL should be out in 2017!!

Intertwined Hearts
releasing October 12, 2017

Intertwined Hearts

Three people who’ve given up on love...

Hudson:
After a brutal, late-night attack in his restaurant left Chef Hudson Richmond too traumatized to even enter his restaurant again, he escaped to Snowcroft. Now he’s trying to find a new normal when the reality of his world is a man’s touch makes him sick and his dream has become his nightmare.

Leigh:
Leigh Vaughn lives in a man’s world running Vaughn Construction with her brother, Jamie. She’s tried to be feminine and failed over and over again. Growing up with only her brother, father, and construction crews to guide her, Leigh has no idea what a feminine wile is, much less how to deploy them. But when Jamie and Trevor begin to research finding a surrogate to carry their baby, she knows this is something she can do. Hell, it’s not like those parts are getting used for anything else.

David:
When this small town came looking for a new police chief, David Warner jumped at the chance. After a traumatic betrayal by his partner on the police force, he’s burnt out and jaded. And his love life has been even more depressing than his work life. He’s made one true connection in the last five years, but she disappeared without a trace the next morning.

Three people who have given up on love, may just find a new beginning where they least expect it...in Snowcroft. But love is only supposed to happen in twos. How can they make it work with three intertwined hearts?

Trigger warning: This book features story-lines that involve past assaults and betrayals, but has a guaranteed HEA for three people who couldn’t deserve it more. male/male/female.

Smolder
releasing October 25, 2017
as part of the Children of the Night Anthology from Less Than Three Press
Wishing and Hoping by Tinnean—It's finally the day of Ioan's eighteenth birthday, and all that he's been waiting for will finally be his—including the love of the man he's secretly been in love with all these years. Everything is perfect. Until the love of his life shows up to his birthday party with a wife.

Lamb to the Slaughter by Joanna Chambers—There is very little Lucien enjoys more than the hunt of young men: beautiful, innocent, eager to learn all that a mature man like Lucien might be able to teach them...

Smolder by Christi Snow—All Zack wants is to be left alone. When Marissa, his boss, calls with orders that he take care of a new vampire in her area because she can't, he's absolutely certain this assignment is going to go any way but well.

Lilac and Leather by Maris Black—Halloween night, and Matt would prefer to be anywhere but in an over-crowded club, especially when an old lover shows up, and he finally has to admit he's gay. But the night takes a turn for the strange—and hot—when he meets the beautiful, mysterious Nicky...

All proceeds from this anthology will be donated to the Rainbow Railroad.
(note: I will be creating a cover for this story, BUT it will only be available for now through the purchase of the anthology.)
But look at that list of authors.
You aren't going to go wrong and the proceeds will be going to aid gay Chechnyan refugees.

Full Story Description:
Zack Blackthorne had “dark, immoral” cravings long before he became a vampire. Born during the mid 1800’s, he grew up during a time when loving a man was wrong. But in a moment of weakness, he gave into that urge and life as he knew it changed forever. Now he lives a cursed existence and will never cross that line again. He earned his fate. Alone, he exists in the shadows of the world.

Nash Dixon is a new vampire who’s used to living his life in the light. A photographer by trade, he has no idea how to deal with his new reality. He hasn’t mentioned his latest medical condition to his best friends, only that he needs a safe place to land. Bringing danger to their door was never part of the plan.

Nash also didn’t count on Zack, his sexy new mentor. Zack is an enigma...grumpy, gorgeous, and completely off-limits. At least that’s what Zack’s mouth says. The heat in his eyes says something else entirely. As a photographer, Nash sees that deeper need. But how does he convince a 150-year-old vampire that sometimes the light is exactly where he needs to be?

Found at the Jazz Club
releasing late November, 2017
I'm actively writing this book right now. I planned for it to be a novella, but it's looking more and more like it's going to run 45-50k which will put it right at the size that Found at the Library was...this is the story of my writing life...LOL.

But the good news is that the first draft should be done in the next week. Yippee.

Found At the Jazz Club Story Description:

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...or does it?
Emily Hodges went to Vegas for her best friend’s wedding. She was NOT looking for a husband. Been there, done that, never doing it again. She has enough scars on her heart, and doesn’t need or want any more.
Brady Gresham went to Vegas to find his musical voice again. Instead he found an inspiring muse in the form of Emily. But right now his musical career is his focus. He’s too young to want or need to be tied down.
Somehow their drunken get-together turned into a wedding that neither one of them can remember or explain.
Waking up married was never part of the plan, but you know what they say about best laid plans...

No Friday Five, but...

No, there's not going to be a Friday Five post today, but I hope you all will forgive me when you find out why. I'm working 12-14 hour days right now.

1. Intertwined Hearts is getting final edits applied to it.
2. Snowcroft Restoration went to my editor...TODAY!
3. Found at the Jazz Club is at 25,000 words and only 6 scenes from the end.

I'm actively working on all three of these projects every single day. Lots of fun stuff still coming to you in 2017!! It just means long days of work for me right now.

I'll be back next week and maybe I'll have solid release dates ready for you for Intertwined Hearts (Snowcroft #3) and Snowcroft Restoration (Snowcroft #4).

Getting stuff done!!

Finally Friday Five...with COVER REVEALS!

oops, sorry about last Friday. The day simply got by me before I even got 1/2 my to do list done...which included the Friday Five. I'm so sorry.

But I'm back today, so let's get this started...

Writing Updates...
Today is the first day in September, so I'm going to recap what I've been working on.

In August, I wrote 43,539 words.

I'm happy with that number.
About half of them were finishing the first draft of Snowcroft Restoration and then I began writing Found at the Jazz Club.

So, this is where all my current writing projects stand (in order of how I think they'll release):

*Intertwined Hearts (mmf - Snowcroft #3)...with the editor...approx - 128, 000 words. It's a beast, so it's taking a bit to get through all the publishing steps. Planned release...maybe late Sept but more likely to be early Oct.

*Smolder (mm - Texas Paranormals #1) - approx - 18,000 words. This is a vampire themed novella coming out in an anthology with Less Than Three Press. It's completely done as it's gone through edits. As I hear more about the details of release, I'll pass them on.
Expected Release...Oct, 2017

*Snowcroft Restoration (mm - Snowcroft #4)...first draft done... approx - 95,000 words. This one needs big rewrites to get it on point with the rest of the series and for smoothing the suspense line. This story is Law's and Ian's so it ties in hard with all the books that have come before it. You'll still be able to read it as a stand-alone, but I need to do lots of rereading and fact checking to make sure I have all the details right. This is a BIG novel for Snowcroft. By the time it goes to my editor, I figure it will be about 100,000 words.
Planned release...November, 2017.

*Found at the Jazz Club (mf - Found #2.5, but may become #3)...work in progress...right now it's at just over 18,000 words. I predict it will stay under the 40,000 word mark which is about twice as long as I'd planned, but it MAY end up being even longer. This is a really fun may/december holiday romance that I'm loving writing.
Planned release...November 2017

*Shiver (mm - Texas Paranormals #2)...work in progress that's about halfway written. I'll be working on it after Jazz Club. Although it's a follow-up to Smolder, I'll be releasing it myself. This is a deer shifter story inspired by real life. (more details to come).
Planned release...December 2017

*When Love Comes Back (mf -When the Mission Ends #5)...work in progress. I'm only listing this one because it's what I plan to be writing on by the time October rolls around, so you'll be hearing about it.
Planned release...February/March, 2018

Favorites...
It's been a while since I've recommended good books on here. But this week there were two new releases that I loved. So I thought it was appropriate to share...

These are both mf stories, but completely different from each other. Although they were both FABULOUS! Highly recommend!!

Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan

Elliott Redeemed by Scarlett Cole

Let's Talk Writing and Music...
I'll admit it...music inspires my writing...a lot.

Right now, I'm writing Found at the Jazz Club. This is a story about an unexpected, drunken Vegas marriage between Emily and Brady. Emily is Mac's agent and bff in Found at the Library and there was a glimpse of these two meeting in Found at the Bookstore. Despite their drunken wedding, these are two people who didn't plan on getting married...much less getting married to a stranger. So, they know nothing about one another...and neither can remember the wedding.

But it turns out, Brady is a really famous musician from a legacy musical family...three generations of his family have been song-writers and instrumental in the music industry. The family is known for their soundtracks and modern music too (think the Newman family...Randy and Thomas Newman specifically).

Brady was in Vegas just trying to find musical inspiration because he's been blocked. Emily helps him hear the music in his head again. So...music is HUGE in this story...and I have a big playlist for it (a LOT of the Road to Perdition soundtrack from Thomas Newman...go listen to it...it's haunting).

But in my search for inspiration, I found this song. The song is PERFECT for Emily and Brady....and then I watched the video...OMG, sobbing. While the singer for the song is female, the video tells the story of a tragic mm love story. So moving and beautiful...and sad.

So, it seemed fitting that this song is THE soundtrack for Found at the Jazz Club...an mf story within what was supposed to be an exclusively mm series. What can I say? Love is love and the love story is there, I follow the muse.

(And speaking of that...I think we'll probably see some of the characters from this book in future mm (maybe even mmm) Found stories.)
